The hotel located located between Dam and Rembrandt Square and sits on the banks of the Amstel river in the heart of the city?s historic center. A few walking distance of Amsterdam?s best museums, sights and shopping. The Superior rooms are in very good condition and have a neutral colour scheme of beige and white with large window and modern in design. They all have a writing desk, large beds, plus seating and beautiful bathrooms with marble finish and rain showers as well as all the extras that would be expected in a luxury hotel including a coffee machine and fully equipped mini bar. All come with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV and safe. Some of them offer beautiful views of the canal. The hotel restaurant is intimate but bright and airy and overlooks one of Amsterdams wonderful canals. Their is a open kitchen and for breakfast, hot dishes are all cooked to order. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner and has a top chef overlooking the kitchen. This traditional, old building is quite noticeable from the opposite side of the canal as it still retains many of its original features, most noticeably the watchmen from where Rembrandt got his inspiration. The lobby is very traditional with marble flooring and antique ornaments, although it is quite small. This hotel has a perfect location and is a brilliant hotel for individuals wishing to experience a little Dutch history. This property is not only one of Amsterdam's oldest hotels, but is also situated in the same building where Rembrandt produced his famous painting "The Nightwatch". The hotel overlooks one of the city's most charming canals and even has its own docking point for tour boats. It was originally built in 1530 as a soldiers lookout post, hence the famous Rembrandt painting.
